History
Brome Lake Lodge
No sooner had the rough road been replaced by a real road in 1911, than a certain John O’Hearn decided to build a resort hotel on a hill in Foster.
From up there, it’s a marvel: you can see Bondville Bay, most of Brome Lake and the tips of all the hills!
To enchant vacationing families, we’ve thought of everything: a large vegetable garden, a horse-drawn cabriolet service, wagon rides in Knowlton, pleasure boats and a dance hall.
In addition to vacationers, people come from all over to dance on the electrified dance floor, where local stars perform.

Chick Wick
Around 1930, the dance hall, too, was revived in a renovated barn – the popular Chick Wick – for young people to meet on summer evenings, but when the war ended in 1945, everything was sold. The buyers opened the first Auberge Joli Vent, and added exciting snowmobile tours (inventor Joseph-Armand Bombardier’s revolution) to the menu. Then, one day, the new inn is sold. Until the end of the century, the house took on other faces: a private club towards the end of the 1960s, which became a rock bar and, finally, now pursues its vocation as a charming hotel and nature estate.

As we strolled around the Domaine Jolivent site, we had a vision… Some people were practicing yoga while admiring the sunset over the pond, while others were taking advantage of the end of the day to bask in front of a roaring fire after a massage in a bucolic setting.
Our exceptional, comforting 112-acre site, with access to Brome Lake, is located in one of Quebec’s most beautiful regions. A haven of peace, with something for everyone. This charming estate, part of the region’s history, boasts 12 rooms and suites, and is being renovated to meet the high expectations of its environmentally conscious clientele.
